To achieve this, it is important that there are processes in place to identify, deter, and reject unsuitable people from working with children and young people. Safer recruitment involves a range of checks that enable the Trust to make informed recruitment decisions on whether a potential employee is suitable to work in a post involving contact with children.
Recruitment decisions will be based on consideration of all aspects of the recruitment process, including pre-employment checks, taking account of any gaps in the context of the information that is available, and a full risk assessment if necessary.
